Common Bankruptcy Do’s and Don’ts
Many people don’t understand exactly what happens during bankruptcy. Here are a few things to consider:
DO TAKE BANKRUPTCY SERIOUSLY
While bankruptcy can provide you with major relief, it’s not a decision to be made hastily. There are pros and cons to this debt relief option, that includes potentially negatively affecting your credit score.
DO CONSIDER ALL POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVES
I have many years of experience helping people explore all of their debt-relief options, and will do the same for you. If bankruptcy is not the best option, I’ll be upfront about which solutions are right for you.
DO FOLLOW YOUR ATTORNEY’S ADVICE
In order to take steps toward gaining your financial freedom, you’ll want to take the advice of an experienced attorney who can navigate you through the bankruptcy process from start to finish.
DON’T TALK TO CREDITORS DIRECTLY
Creditors may try to persuade you to pay back debts that your attorney gets discharged for you. This is unethical behavior that I can help prevent if I handle conversations with creditors on your behalf.
